The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact is a decade-old partnership between Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties, to work collaboratively to reduce regional greenhouse gas emissions, implement adaptation strategies, and build climate resilience within their own communities and across the Southeast Florida region.

This is Monroe County’s turn to host the annual summit which will be held at the Casa Marina Resort in Key West, December 3-5, 2019.

Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi in his welcome to attendees describes this year’s focus. “The theme of this year’s Summit, ‘Bridging the Gap,’ reflects the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact’s commitment to bridge the gap between climate change and resiliency.  (Attendees) will hear from panels of Compact County administrators and elected officials, private industry leaders, state and federal agencies, subject matter experts and stakeholders about climate change and the varied resilience approaches addressing the inherent challenges presented by climate change.  The Summit will not only highlight regional progress in climate leadership, but also facilitate conversations about initiatives crucial to ensure our region’s future resilience.”
