In a study conducted by scientists from the University of California Santa Cruz, The Nature Conservancy and the Wildlife Conservation Society in association with Risk Management Solutions and Guy Carpenter & Co. it was found more than $625 million in property damages were prevented during Hurricane Sandy by coastal wetlands along the Northeast coast.
Risk Management Solutions (RMS) is one of the hurricane models approved by The Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (the Florida Commission) for use by Citizens Property Insurance Corp. The RMS model indicates that Monroe County windstorm rates should be decreased.
