Cudjoe Gardens Property Owners Association’s outgoing President Woody Hutchinson presented a $500 check from the CGPOA to FIRM’s Board Secretary Theresa Faber on January 26, 2019.

Cudjoe Gardens Property Association’s outgoing President Woody Hutchinson presented a $500 check to FIRM (Fair Insurance for Residents of Monroe County) as part of its commitment to support FIRM’s mission.

“We have challenges in Tallahassee and in Washington, DC,” said FIRM President Mel Montagne.  “We are a small delegation, so support from the community gives us a bigger voice. We are extremely grateful for the support of the owners of Cudjoe Gardens.”

As we continue to recover from Hurricane Irma,” Montagne continued, “and prepare for revised FEMA flood maps expected later this year, the cost of insurance is an essential factor of housing affordability in the Florida Keys.”

FIRM is a non-partisan grassroots organization formed to fight for fair property insurance rates for property owners and residents of Monroe County, Florida.   FIRM was successful in securing a 2018 residential windstorm insurance rate freeze for Monroe County, which saved County policyholders approximately $4 million in 2018 alone. FIRM urges you to donate or sign up for a free membership at  to support the continuation of the fight for fair insurance rates.
