The Monroe County Property Appraiser asks those with damage due to Hurricane Irma to report damages to their office.

If your home is rendered unihabitable due to Hurricane Irma, you must complete the
MCPA-201-CalamityApp

This allows homesteaded property owners the ability to maintain the Homestead Exemption even if they are not residing in the property due to a calamity.  Repair or reconstruction has to commence within three (3) years of January 1st following the calamity.

If you experienced damage to your property, and if repairs will NOT be completed on or before January 1, 2018, please complete Property Appraisers Hurricane Form and return it to the Monroe County Property Appraiser’s office. Be sure to include your name, address or account number, and contact information on all information you submit.
